SOS Grossesse Estrie was founded in 1988. Since, the organization has been offering help and support to women, teenagers, trans and non-binary people who are experiencing an unexpected pregnancy, who are afraid of becoming pregnant, or who are going through a difficult pregnancy situation. Services are also available to family and friends.
One of the only recognized pro-choice intervention resources in Quebec
The organization is recognized as the only resource in the Eastern Townships with expertise in pro-choice intervention and prevention in connection with unplanned pregnancies. The organization’s support services are free, confidential and bilingual. Since it was founded, SOS Grossesse Estrie has helped and raised awareness among over 377,000 people, and continues to evolve.
Every year, the organization supports initiatives focusing on health,education, prevention andsupport for people in need. Over the years, numerous projects and new services have been launched to better meet the needs of the Estrie population. Partnerships have also been developed with a number of community organizations, schools and other resources.

“Today, after all those years of community involvement, SOS Grossesse Estrie is more committed than ever to ensuring that women experiencing pregnancy-related problems can receive the appropriate help, with respect, whatever their decision. Only three pro-choice intervention and prevention organizations are recognized in Quebec, and as one of them, it remains a priority to be known and recognized in the region, since everyone needs a warm, non-judgmental and non-influential ear!

Since its inception, the organization has positioned itself as a reference in the Eastern Townships for help with choice, offering services that are truly rooted in free choice, neutrality and non-judgment: telephone listening, e-mail support, chat, pregnancy testing or help with choice meetings, accompaniment, etc. Over the years, SOS Grossesse Estrie has reached many people across the 9 MRCs of the Eastern Townships:

We also met many people from various backgrounds in the Eastern Townships during our various prevention and awareness-raising activities: kiosks, animations, workshops, training sessions, and so on.
Because no contraceptive method is 100% safe, because nearly one pregnancy in two is unplanned, and because it’s essential to believe that each woman has the potential to make her own choices: SOS Grossesse Estrie is there, and has been since 1988!
